What better way to spend a cool summer night than being at the ballpark with your friends and family enjoying a great game, delicious quick eats, a nice brew, and a generous military discount. Believe it or not many baseball teams are offering special military discount rates and specials for military members and their dependents. So before you go to a MLB baseball game, be sure to check out the list below to see if your favorite team offers a military discount.
On a side note, please understand that the military discounts and information are subject to change so be sure to contact each teams ticket/box office beforehand so that you know if the military discount is still valid and available. Tickets are subject to availability.
American League
Baltimore Orioles
Military Orioles fans and their families can receive a $3 discount off tickets all season long. Camden Yards (Orioles’ stadium) also hosts the Army’s birthday celebration every year and an annual military appreciation day. For specific dates and tickets call 888-848-BIRD.
Boston Red Sox
Boston Red Sox fans can now take advantage of military discounts, which can give you standing section tickets for only $10. You must first purchase tickets at gate B before the game and present a valid military ID at time of purchase.
Chicago White Sox
Active members of the military can receive one complimentary ticket, based on availability, at the U.S. Cellular Field Box Office on the day of the game by presenting a valid military I.D. This offer excludes Opening Day, Cubs series and premium games.
Detroit Tigers
Active duty military personnel can receive up to four half-priced tickets in the upper reserved section. These tickets can be purchased at the box office with a valid military ID Monday-Saturday from 10am-6pm and Sunday 10am-2pm.
Kansas City Royals
Active duty and retired military personnel can receive up to four half-price tickets to a Royals game. The tickets are in the Hy-Vee reserved box, infield box or outfield box for any Sunday through Friday home game.
Los Angeles Angels
Military personnel in uniform attending an Angel’s game can receive 50% off of up to 8 tickets in the Upper View, View All-Star, View MVP and Right Field Pavilion seating (Right Field Pavilion, Left Field Pavilion and Terrace Box accessible seats also).
New York Yankees
Active duty and veteran military personnel can receive a complimentary ticket in designated areas of the grandstand or bleacher sections for select Monday through Thursday games. Also, half-price tickets in other non-premium seats are also available. Tickets must be purchased at the gate and is subject to availability.
Oakland Athletics
With a valid military ID, you can receive discounted seats in the plaza outfield for $10 rather than $18. This special does not apply to Giants, Yankees and Red Sox games or opening night.
Seattle Mariners
Military personnel with a valid ID receive $10 off the purchase of view-reserved tickets (up to 4 tickets) to any Tuesday game and July 4th. You can also present your valid military ID at all Mariners Team stores and receive 20% off regular priced merchandise.
Texas Rangers
The Texas Rangers offer military discounts at all tickets levels for tany military member that possesses a valid military ID. You can purchase theses tickets by calling the Ranger’s ticket office at 972-RANGERS or by visiting the ticket gate.
National League
Arizona Diamondbacks
Active duty, reserve, and retired military personnel can recive 50% off tickets on Sunday home games. The military discount applies to up to 4 seats in any section. These tickets can be purchased at the ticket window on the day of the game with a valid military ID. The discount also applies to the 4th of July game as well.
Atlanta Braves
Military personnel with a valid ID can receive a special 2-for-1 upper box ticket discount when purchased at the box office. Tickets are subject to availability.
Cincinnati Reds
Active duty military personnel can receive a complimentary view level seat on games Monday through Thursday. You must resent your valid military ID at the box office to redeem the ticket. The offer excludes the Yankees series.
Colorado Rockies
Call the ticket office at (800) 388-ROCK for more information on future military discounts as they become available.
Florida Marlins
The Marlins are starting a new promotion called Military Mondays. Every Monday, any retired or active duty military member can get a complimentary ticket. You can get one free ticket per military ID so be sure to have yours handy at the box office. Check out their website for more information about Military Mondays.
Los Angeles Dodgers
The Los Angeles Dodgers offer an awesome military discount to all military personnel with a valid military ID for every home game. One military ID can get up to 8 discounted tickets. Here are the prices below.
- Infield Box: $90 for $60
- Preferred Field Box: $50 for $20
- Left Field Pavilion: $19 for $10
- Top Deck: $13 for $7
New York Mets
Active duty military personnel can receive a free ticket at the ticket office in the Jackie Robinson Rotunda. You must have a valid and active military ID on the day of the game.
Philadelphia Phillies
Get $4 off tickets priced $26 and under by using the promotion code MILITARY. The Phillies are hosting military appreciation days on July 5th, August 23rd and September 6th.
Pittsburgh Pirates
Military personnel can receive tickets to any home game Monday through Thursday for half-price, or they can get $10 seats in the outfield box. You can call 1-800-BUY-BUCS or purchase at the stadium with a valid military ID.
San Diego Padres
Military personnel in uniform can receive 50% off any available ticket at all Sunday regular season home games. Tickets must be purchased day of game at the ticket windows at Petco Park. The San Diego Padres now also offer a Military Season Pass for junior enlisted military personnel (pay grades E1-E3 only). The $99 pass entitles the holder to one Upper Reserved seat for up to 80 home games in 2012 (excludes Opening Day April 5). A Military ID is required for both purchase and use of the Military Season Pass, which is currently on sale at local military bases. San Francisco Giants
Present a valid military ID and receive a $2 military discounts for purchases at the ticket office. These tickets can be purchased on game day.
St. Louis Cardinals
Active, retired, and reserved military personnel can receive a free ticket. The tickets can be purchased at windows 17 and 18 no earlier than an hour and a half before the game starts. There may be some blackout days. Military appreciation nights are on July 4, July 24, August 14 and September 3. On these days tickets are available for $59 in the legends club, Coca-Cola patio and deck and the PowerAde Bridge.
