If you are an avid moviegoer like myself, then you are probably aware that this summer is going to be jam packed with hit blockbuster movies. From superheroes fighting crime in tights, to Tom Cruise rockin’ out with Alec Baldwin in crazy wigs, this is going to be a star-studded summer. In case you are unsure what some of the top movies coming out this summer are, here’s a list of movies that I am so thrilled about:
Batman: The Dark Knight Rises
Christopher Nolan ends the acclaimed series with not just one villain, but two: Bane and Catwoman. Plus, since parts of this movie were filmed using an IMAX camera, it’s only right to watch it in IMAX. This is a movie not be missed!
The Amazing Spiderman
In this darker, more action packed remake, Spider Man goes head to head with the notorious super villain, Lizard.
Prometheus
Not much to be said here, except for the fact that this movie looks so awesome. Some people are also touting it as sort of a prequel to Alien. If it’s sci-fi, then I’m interested.
The Borne Legacy
The Bourne series returns to the big screen once again, but this time without Matt Damon. Although this is kind of a bummer, I believe Jeremy Renner will make this movie almost equally as good.
Men In Black 3
Two words. Will Smith.
Rock of Ages
Based on the hit Broadway musical “Rock of Ages” is a movie about two young dreamers, Tom Cruise and Alec Baldwin, hoping to make it big in showbiz.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation
The president is an evil imposter and the G.I. Joe has to take care of business. Although the first G.I. Joe movie had some of the worst CGI I’ve ever seen in a movie of the decade, the Rock (Dwayne Johnson) appears to make this movie seem a little better. From the trailer, the overall quality of the movie looks better than the first, which gives me high hopes. We’ll just have to see. Plus, it has Bruce Willis in it so you know it’s going to be good (sarcastic a bit…maybe).
Ice Age: Continental Drift
Manny the mammoth and the gang are now stranded on drifting icebergs. Now I’ve never really watched any more of these movies besides the first one, but this one looks okay. So I might go ahead and check it out.
Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted
Still trying to make their way back to the Central Park Zoo, the gang ends up in Europe, which is where they fall in with a traveling circus. As long as they sing my song (I Like to Move It, Move It), I’ll be happy.
The Expendables 2
Some of film’s most renowned action stars join forces once again in the sequel to the action packed, adrenaline rushing first movie. Let me warn you though, if you aren’t too careful, your testosterone gland just might explode.
That’s My Boy
The hilarious Adam Sandler and comical Andy Sandberg come together on the big screen in a comedy about a father reuniting and making up for lost time with his long lost son. I’m always down to watch a comedy movie with Adam Sandler in it.
