Audible.com 15% off a membership
Have you ever listened to a book? Have you road trip with your dog, knowing that static mixed with the occasional talk-radio snippet just wasn't going to work? So you got a book on tape, and it helped make the trip a great one? So now picture the tedious tasks in your life: sitting in traffic, mopping the floor, shopping at Home Depot, or any functions that you kind of dread. What if you added a book to that task?
What if you could listen to the bestseller that everyone is talking about or the biography that you've been trying to get time to read? Audible.com is your source for recorded books. They have any book you could imagine and are adding dozens of books each month. One of the best things about Audible is their great narrators. They have TV and movie stars as narrators who do justice to the stories.
Now, Audible.com is even better. They have just announced a military discount that is available to ALL service members. You get one free book, and if you love it and decide to buy more, you get 15% off a membership. The only hitch is that it is for new accounts only, so if you have ever received a free book from them before, you won't be eligible for that email address. All of the information is here. Eddie Bauer – News surfaced recently that Eddie Bauer offers a military discount of 15%. We called and confirmed, and it’s true! Let’s pause for a minute and say, “Woohooo, thanks, Eddie Bauer!” But then, I have to stop and wonder, why don’t they market their discount widely? Why wouldn’t they be shouting it from the rooftops? Or at least including it in customer emails and posting it on the front page of their website?
Well, it’s kind of hard. To offer a military discount means you have to answer the question, “How do we make sure that only military personnel gets the discount?” The technology exists to verify easily and instantly if someone is part of the military, but it’s a relatively new technology, and most companies don’t have it.
Eddie Bauer doesn’t have the technology, so they are walking that fine line between wanting all military peeps to know that they offer a 15% discount, but they don’t want anyone else to see, you know? Here’s the low-down from the mouth of an official customer service representative from Eddie Bauer: 15% military discount is available in stores and when you call in an order. It is NOT available on their website due to that whole verification thing. It seems to be open to any level of military personnel—active, retired, or veteran. Please support Eddie Bauer as they are supporting the troops—woohoo!
